Uganda in a few words...

Uganda is a nation of diversities; from the dry, grasslands of the savannah, to the dense, luscious rainforest, to the vast expanse of Lake Victoria and the snow capped peaks of the Rwenzori Mountains, it really does have it all! Nestled between the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan and Tanzania, this land locked country has been famed for it's abundance of wildlife and it's protection of the animal inhabitants that call this country home. Luganda is the language most widely spoken among it's population,  while English is the official language of education, administration and business. Kiswahili is also becoming more prominent as Ugandans do business with neighbouring countries of Kenya and Tanzania.

Natural attractions include spectacular scenery, nature reserves and national parks teeming with wildlife and unpolluted rainforest. The Rwenzori mountains are a huge pull for many, particularly for trekkers looking for a mountainous trek close to the equator. There aren't many places where you can find 5,000m snow capped peaks this close to the hottest area on earth.

As Uganda lies on the equator, the seasons are different to those experienced in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Uganda’s equatorial climate brings two seasons of rain each year: from mid-September to November and from March to May. The dry season from December - February will often still have regular showers, much reduced from the torrential rains of the wet season, but particularly in the rainforest, misty, wet days can still be expected. In comparison, June to August is generally much drier.
