Winter

The Kandoo Adventures team specialise in adventure travel to iconic destinations all year round and winter is no exception. Our recommended best places to travel in winter include incredible Iceland, stunning Svalbard and majestic Morocco. Forget your ski holiday this winter and try one of our winter snow holidays with a difference. Try new ways to traverse snow covered landscapes like snow shoeing and cross-country skiing, learn how to trek in crampons and discover the frosty beauty of our favourite winter travel destinations.

This winter season we bring you winter activity holidays that take you up iconic peaks, across frozen lakes and explore ancient glaciers. Our guides are winter experts and experienced in navigating snow and icy conditions, always ensuring your safety, so you can suit up and soak in the many magical moments of your winter adventure holiday.

Our winter treks are suited to all abilities, with some winter trips more challenging than others, and last from 8 to 15 days. For a winter adventure holiday that’s not too physically demanding, look no further than our Fire, Ice and Northern Lights trip to Iceland. As the name of this adventure suggests, you’ll have the opportunity to swim in volcanic pools, hike across glaciers, seek the illusive Aurora borealis and discover waterfalls and ice caves as your travel across southern Iceland, an adventure-seekers paradise. Our Iceland tour takes us to the famous Blue Lagoon and Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Europe. Try your hand at snow shoeing and hiking in crampons, watch seals hunting and take a whale watching boat trip during your unforgettable winter activity holiday to spectacular Iceland.

Morocco wouldn’t be the first winter travel destination that springs to mind, however climbing Mount Toubkal in the High Atlas Mountains when it’s snow-covered is a truly memorable experience. This is a trip for those who are physically fit and journeys from the souks of Marrakesh to the highest peak in northern Africa. From the summit you’ll be able to see Marrakesh to one side and the Sahara Desert to the other. There are not many summits where the views go from one extreme to another! Add a few extra nights at the end of your trip and recover with an authentic Moroccan hammam experience to soothe those tired legs.

The most challenging winter adventure trips that you can try is one of our Svalbard expedition tours. Part of the Kingdom of Norway, Svalbard sits inside the artic circle and is the most northern inhabited place in the world. Our treks here are listed as challenging to tough and are best suited to those who are physically fit and have experience trekking in winter conditions. For your efforts you’ll be rewarded with skiing across untouched landscapes, watching polar bears in their natural habitat and experiencing the simply stunning scenery of glacial passes and icy fjords. We have two Svalbard trekking holidays, our Von Post Glacier trip and The East Coast Expedition.

For a winter trip with a difference, choose a Kandoo Adventures winter adventure and put yourselves in the capable hands of our adventure travel experts.
