  • How many days should I spend in Georgia?

This is really dependent on what you wish to experience whilst you are here. If you are travelling to Georgia for the epic, mountainous landscapes then 8-10 days trekking through the Georgian wilderness will most likely wet your appetite. Our Trek the Svaneti Region, provides an an adventure for those wishing to explore the rugged, natural beauty of a forgotten landscape, where the only others around are the nomadic farmers, tending to their livestock.

If you really want to immerse yourself into Caucasian culture, then we would recommend extending your trip to two weeks and taking on a challenge such as the Transcaucasian Trail.

  • What is a good month to visit Georgia?

Summer time is peak season for trekking in the Caucasus. Summer usually runs from June to September. The snows have now melted away and the passes are open for business. Temperatures are between 10°C and 24°C. The highest temperatures occur in August when there is also a greater possibility of rain as afternoon thunderstorms are common. September is the most reliable month with warm days and less rain.
  • What is there to do in Tbilisi?

There really is something for everyone in Tbilisi.

If architecture is what you are looking for, you can wander through the ancient narrow streets of Kala (or the Old Town) with it's hidden courtyards and wooden balconies. The stunning Sameba Cathedral is one of the largest orthodox churches in the world, but if you are looking for something a bit more modern, take a walk across the futuristic Bridge of Peace before relaxing in the natural hot springs of the blue-tiled Abanotubani Sulfur Baths.

The National Botanical Garden of Georgia is well worth a visit and is located just behind the Narikala Fortress (another must-see!).
