Indonesia Travel Guide

When to go? Seasons, climate, festivities

  • April to October

April to October is the dry season in Indonesia. This does not mean that there will be no rain at all, scattered showers can reasonably be expected. The islands are hot and humid with an average temperature between 20°C and 27°C. This is the best time to visit Indonesia but also the busiest. To get the best of the weather but avoid the crowds, consider travelling in April, May or late September.
  • November to March

This is the monsoon season in Indonesia so expect regular and heavy rain. There will still be warm and sunny days to enjoy but they tend to be interrupted by short tropical downpours. Temperatures will be between 25°C and 30°C with high humidity. If the rain does not bother you then this can be a good time to visit. The islands are quiet, hotels all have availability and prices tend to come down during the off season.
