NORWAY ADVENTURE HOLIDAYS

The stunning country of Norway sits as one of the most northern countries in Europe, in fact, parts of Norway are within the Arctic Circle making it also one of the most northernmost countries in the world. The Norwegian Sea and North Atlantic Ocean along the western coast separate Norway from Iceland, Greenland and Svalbard, and Sweden hugs the entire eastern border. The main languages spoken in Norway are Norwegian and Sami, which both share similarities with Swedish and Danish, and the local currency is the Norwegian Krone.

This unique country is famous for its incredible natural beauty, its Viking history and as one of the top spots to take in the Norway Northern Lights. Known affectionately at the ‘Land of the Midnight Sun’, Norway draws thousands of visitors each season looking for the illusive Aurora borealis playing out in the clear skies over the snow-covered wilderness.

Norway is the perfect European adventure destination with high peaks to climb, phenomenal fjords to paddle in and oh-so-much snow to traverse. International flights to Norway generally fly into Oslo, Norway’s largest and capital city, or Bergen, Norway which is the second largest city. Kandoo Adventures offer a choice of adventure holidays to Norway where you can fully immerse yourself in the spectacular landscapes of this wild and wonderful place.

Situated in the northwest of Norway are the gorgeous Lofoten Islands. Arguably one of the most beautiful places to visit in Norway, the Lofoten Islands is a remote archipelago where the dramatic peaks meet remote sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and blue sea ice. The Lofoten Islands are within the Arctic Circle and what better way to explore the Norway Fjords and arctic sea ice than in a sea kayak. Our popular Kayaking and Hiking in the Lofoten Islands Norway trip leads you through meandering fjords amidst rugged high mountains and alongside white sandy shores dotted with fishing villages. Explore this breath-taking corner of Norway hiking the high mountains for unrivalled vistas or paddling the turquoise fjords discovering hidden gems. Tick ‘kayak Norway Fjords’ off your bucket list with this once-in-a-lifetime Norway trip.

If you’re prefer your Norway adventure holiday to involve a little more trekking and a little less paddling, then hike the Lofoten Island peaks on our Summits of the Lofoten Islands Norway tour. Traverse the southern mountains of the Lofoten in the endless light of summer for unforgettable views of the islands, endless perpetual sunset skies and colourful communities scattered along the distinctive waters.

Our Best of South Norway trip explores the vibrant towns of Bergen and Stravanga in southern Norway and includes three of the best hikes in Norway. Journey through striking scenery, uncover intriguing natural wonders on our Trolltunga hike, the Troll’s tongue, and Kjeragbolten the iconic hanging rock. This is one of Norway’s most popular base-jumping locations and whilst this is not included in our itinerary, the trek to reach here is a firm favourite of ours.

Norway is a truly sensational place to visit. Choose Kandoo Adventures and discover the magic of this majestic place with expert guides, incredible itineraries and like-minded explorers seeking unforgettable adventure.
