Calling all wildlife lovers! Whether you want to see the Big Five in East Africa or explore the Amazon Rainforest, we have a variety of exciting, wildlife-filled trips and extensions for you. Many of our wildlife itineraries are the perfect add-on to our treks, allowing you to reward yourself and finish on an unforgettable high.
Here at Kandoo Adventures, you will find some of the best safari trips in Africa. We always take care of every single detail while organizing them to make sure you will enjoy your wildlife adventure to the fullest. Take a look at some of the suggested African safari tours we have for you!
Machame Climb and Safari
During this trip, you will get the best of both worlds in Tanzania as you will be able to enjoy wildlife sightings both during a mountain climb and a safari. On the first day, you will have the chance to go through a majestic rainforest on your way to reach the Shira Camp up the mountain, with the Lemosho route joining from the west.
From this point, you will travel through the southern side of the mountain via Lava Tower up to Barranco. Then, you will be able to club the Great Barranco Wall and then proceed to Barafu Camp. When you get to the summit, you can descend by the Mweka trail instead of going back the same way so as to have a more interesting experience.
Apart from climbing, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a great wildlife experience during an unforgettable safari. You will visit Lake Manyara National Park, well-known for its huge alkaline soda lake, where you can see yellow-billed storks, pink flamingos, and herons. What's more, you may spot a climbing lion - an animal unique to this national park. Also, Lake Manyara is said to have the biggest baboon population, so you are very likely to observe some of them there as well! To experience the African safari more intensely, you will spend the night in a dedicated lodge in Karatu instead of going back to the hotel.
Lemosho Climb and Safari
This is another example of how excellently climbing trips can be combined with safaris! This adventure will start at an altitude of 2360, at Londorossi Gate. You will approach the mountain from the west and walk through a breathtaking rainforest, taking a chance to see some of the local animals.
Then, you will continue up to Shira Ridge to reach the mountain's third summit. From there, you will have the opportunity to go through the famous Shira Plateau and admire the breathtaking Shira Cathedral and then reach the main Machame route leading you to the Shira camp.
In this way, you will have a few days to enjoy peaceful climbing before you reach a more frequently visited route to the top. When you reach the summit, you can make your way back more interesting by choosing the Mweka trail instead of following the same route.
To make sure you will get the real taste of Tanzania, we include fascinating wildlife trips into our itinerary as well. You will be able to go to the Serengeti, which is worth visiting no matter the season. What's more, you will visit Ngorongoro National Park, where it is very likely you can spot the full Big Five: an elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino. Apart from that, you will be able to see the impressive Ngorongoro Crater with its floor of 5,900 feet (1,800 meters) above sea level.
Another place we often include in our safaris is also the Tarangire National Park, famous for its elephant families congregating year-round.
African Safari (2-7 Days)
If you want to focus exclusively on exploring the wildlife of East Africa, we have also prepared trips that are safaris only. They can even take as long as 7 days to let you take a lot of time to enjoy observing African animals to the fullest, but we have also planned shorter safaris for those who have a limited budget and time.
Even during the shortest, 2-day safari, you will have the opportunity to visit the already mentioned remarkable Ngorongoro Crater, where the chances to spot the Big Five are high! Apart from that, the Tarangire National Park is also on the itinerary - and you will be able to travel down both of those locations in a dedicated Kandoo Adventures 4x4 African safari vehicle.
On top of that, we will provide you with a professional guide who can show you the best places to spot incredible animals and tell you more about them. What's more, during each African safari, we offer lodge accommodation in stunning locations so that you can admire the beauty of this continent as soon as you wake up.
During longer African safari trips, you will travel to many more interesting places, such as the Olduvai Gorge where the remains of a 1.8 million-year-old skeleton of Australopithecus boisei were discovered - it was one of the most significant links of the human evolutionary chain!
