The Himalaya are one of the most popular charity challenge destinations and the Everest base camp trek is the single most popular challenge trek. Over 14 days this expedition allows you to explore fascinating Kathmandu, have a thrilling flight to Lukla and trek the beautiful Khumbu region before finally arriving at the iconic base camp.

It is a physically demanding challenge but well within the capacity of most regular weekend walkers so you can experience all of this and raise money for your favourite charity.

Of course you don't just have to go to basecamp for your charity challenge: the Annapurna Circuit is just as demanding and if you really want to earn all those donations why not take on one of our climbs like Island Peak or the epic Snowman trek in Bhutan. Whatever you want to do we can help make your challenge the trip of a lifetime.

Why choose Kandoo Adventures for your Himalayan challenge?…

“I can’t say enough about how much the knowledge, professionalism, experience and wisdom of the guides ensured a wonderful experience for all…”

Heather Haines | THE END FUND

Key to our approach is that we are the only UK based tour operator that does not subcontract any of its trekking operations to a local land agent. This means we employ guides that we have recruited and trained, we use our own high quality mountaineering equipment and our trekkers eat menus designed and planned by us to give you that all important energy.

As a UK insured company we are required to carry out regular risk assessments for our own insurers and this also means we are well placed to assist you in this process.

Talk to us about your thoughts and ideas for any event or fundraising initiative. We can help with the specification, training, kit and fundraising to meet your needs.

Safety

Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Kandoo Adventures.  By operating our own treks and climbs we are able to control and manage all the risks and ensure that our clients have a fantastic time.

Key features of our approach include:

Rigorous risk assessments that are kept up to date regularly (not least to maintain £5m of public liability cover)

Established and carefully monitored operating and safety procedures that ensure standards are maintained

Recruiting, training and retaining only the very best guides. Most of our guides have been with us over 5 years

High guide to client ratio

Emergency oxygen and pulse oxymeters on all treks and climbs

Most importantly, for your safety we monitor all trekkers and climbers’ health and acclimatisation very closely. Our guides are very experienced in identifying and assessing the severity of any symptoms of altitude sickness and use the Lake Louise protocol and scoresheet to assist them. This is incorporated into a twice daily health check and augmented by a Pulse Oxymeter test, which checks a clients pulse and oxygen saturation. Together these procedures we ensure altitude sickness is identified early and appropriate action is taken to ensure this does not become serious.
