Detailed Itinerary for the Annapurna Panorama

Day 1Arrival

A Kandoo driver will  meet you at the airport when you arrive in Kathmandu, and see you to your hotel safely. After you check in, you'll have the opportunity to meet your guide for a pre-trek briefing.

Day 2Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara, drive to Nayapul, trek to Tikhedhunga

We'll get on a flight to Pokhara early in the morning, and have an opportunity to see the Annapurna region from the air. Next is a drive of approximately one hour, arriving in Nayapul.

At last, our trek really begins. With our guides and porters , we will set off on foot along the south bank of the Modi Khola, moving through sub-tropical forest. After crossing the river on a high bridge, we ascend until we reach Tikhedhunga. We will spend the night in a lodge here.

  • Elevation: From 1300 metres to 1079 metres to 1540 metres
Day 3From Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani

We'll cross a deep gorge via another bridge before mounting a stone stairway all the way to Ulleri. After Ulleri our path is once again through forest, winding as it rises and falls between rhododendron and waterfalls. Machhapuchhre (sometimes called 'Fish Tail') is often visible through breaks in the trees.

In time we'll reach Ghorepani and its famous view of the Annapurna peaks and Dhaulagiri.

  • Elevation: From 1540 metres to 2780 metres
Day 4Ascent of Poon Hill, trek to Tadapani

The trail up the hill is steep, but rewarding - Poon Hill is known as one of the most impressive scenic viewpoints in Nepal, and would be worth carrying a camera for 8 days all by itself.

Afterwards we will descend to the village of Tadapani, once again through rhododendron forest.

  • Elevation: From 2780 metres to 2630 metres
  • Highest point: 3200 metres (Poon Hill)
Day 5From Tadapani to Landruk

On our way to Landruk we will pass through Ghandruk. Ghandruk is famous for its Ghurka population - many of its more prosperous members own the lodges we've been staying in on this trek.

Along the way we will be able to see Gangapurna, Annapurna South and Fish Tail, once again.

  • Elevation: From 2630 metres to 1565 metres
Day 6From Landruk to Dhampus

We'll continue along the same river valley today, arriving at Dhampus for the night. Dhampus offers dramatic views of many nearby peaks, including Machhapuchhre, Lamjung Himal and Himchuli. This will be our last night on the trail, and the Annapurna Conservation Area.

  • Elevation: From 1565 metres to 1650 metres
Day 7From Dhampus to Phedi, drive to Pokhara, flight to Kathmandu

A short hike to Phedi gives us one last bit of proper trekking, then we'll see you to your hotel in Kathmandu, after another amazing flight above this beautifully rugged country.

  • Elevation: From 1750 metres to 1079 metres to 1300 metres
Day 8Departure

We'll take you from your hotel to the airport to check-in on time for your flight home.

Though your adventure may be over, we'd love to see you again next year!
