More about the options we offer

If you want the ultimate Himalaya trek experience then a private trek is for you. You can start by scheduling a start date that fits in exactly with what you want: no shuffling your dates to fit in with a fixed itinerary. Go when you want for as long as you want.

Then choose an itinerary that runs exactly as you would like. If you want extra acclimatisation days that is no problem: our private treks allow you to do just what you want. Some of the great options we offer are below:

Helicopter treks

If you have a limited number of days and are trekking in the Everest region then our heli-trek may be a great choice - you can take any standard Everest trek itinerary up to base camp normally but then save two days by taking a helicopter back to Kathmandu - a spectacular flight all the way down the Khumbu valley.

Flexible itineraries

We run all our private treks as what we call Flexi-treks with no extra charge. We agree your planned daily itinerary with you before you arrive in Nepal but depending on how you feel, you can agree with your guide each day exactly how far and how fast you want to go. You are never waiting around for slower trekkers, you don't have to hang around having rest days when you are feeling strong and you are never in danger of being dragged along by faster trekkers. Its your trek done your way.

Sleep at Everest Base Camp

If you are on one of our Everest treks we are able to arrange for trekkers to sleep the night at Everest Base Camp during the main climbing season from March through May. This is a very unique experience for trekkers as they get to join the campsite of an Everest expedition team and can walk all the way up to the crampon point on the Khumbu icefall

Hotel upgrades

A range of hotel upgrades are available including the famous Raj palace, The Shanker Hotel, the colonial Yak and Yeti, or the new boutique hotel getting rave reviews for its food and rooms, The Dwarika. Get in touch to find out more about the hotels upgrades available on your trek.

Personal porters

All our treks provide you with a porter and / or pack animal to carry your main luggage bag up to a weight of 15kg - all you normally need to carry is a day sack. But if you want someone to carry your day sack or you want to take more than 15kg of luggage we can arrange a personal porter who will walk with you all the way.

Safaris

And if you have a little more time then why not visit Nepal's safari park at Chitwan, famous for its rhinos and tigers. Chitwan lies to the south of Kathmandu and a range of lodges provide exciting elephant backed safaris with a good chance of seeing rhino and if you are very lucky a tiger too.

Rafting

If you still feel the need for some more adrenalin jump into a raft and face the huge white water rivers of the Himalaya. Nepal, in particular, has some of the most challenging rapids in the world and trips can be arranged for as little as one day.

Cultural tours

Kathmandhu and nearby Bhaktapur are the most wonderful cultural experience. A visit to the famous Buddhist stupa at Boudhanath is definitely a must as it the Monkey Temple and the pedestrianized town of Bhaktapur. For trekkers in Bhutan we can arrange special cultural tours of the Tigers Monastery, and the main sites of Paro and Thimphu.

Whatever you want to make your trip really special please just ask.

Weddings, honeymoons and anniversaries

While for many, the idea of a perfect honeymoon or birthday might be lounging on a beach for two weeks , more and more people every year abandon the comforts of a beach hotel for a much more inspiring and memorable honeymoon Everest base camp trek.

So whatever your reason for a celebration Kandoo can help arrange a custom made, bespoke Everest trek with all the extras to make your trip really special.

Champagne at the Everest base camp, a Nepali wedding ceremony, a birthday cake carried to base camp, luxury hotels before or after you trek, elephant back safaris in the jungle - whatever you might like we can arrange it.

We offer beautiful a range of romantic hotels before and after your trek, fantastic safaris in Chitwan and if you want pure relaxation a couple of days on the shores of Lake Pokhara is perfect. All part of a tailor made expedition to fit in exactly with your plans.

Whatever the special occasion you wish to celebrate, our team will work with you to make your dreams a reality and create a memory that will last a lifetime.
