When to go? Seasons, climate, festivities
-
October to March
These are the winter months and the best time to visit Oman. Temperatures are pleasant and you can be outdoors without suffering from the intense sun of the summer months. It can even get a bit chilly in the evenings at higher elevations. December and march may see some scattered showers but rainfall is rare during this period. You can expect temperatures between 17° C and 30° C. -
April to May
his is the Spring season in Oman. Temperatures will be higher than during the winter but the intense heat of the summer has not yet started. The benefit of traveling at this time is that there are very few tourists in the country. Temperatures will be 25° C - 35° C and rainfall is rare. -
June to September
During this period the weather can be seriously hot! If you are travelling during the summer then it is best to stay in the shade during the hottest times of the day and spend as much time in the water as possible to keep cool. The mountainous areas of Musandam and Hajjar are the best places to visit at this time of year as they will be a little cooler. You can expect temperatures of 30° C - 40° C and little or no rain.
