This is an imposing mountain range that crosses the north of Oman, separating Muscat from the desert. Its highest point is Jbel Shams, at an altitude of 3,075m.
Musandam
This isolated peninsula to the north of the Arabian Horn brings together what is commonly called "the Arabian fjords". The indented arid coasts, with high cliffs plunging into the translucent gulf, remind us a lot of their Norwegian cousins, but the temperature is not the same!
Dhofar
Dhofar is the southern region of the Sultanate of Oman, on the border between Oman and Yemen, with Salalah as its capital. It is a special region because its climate is almost reversed compared to the north and it suffers the monsoon in summer.
